I feel dizzy

my head is spinning! So I found tutorials on how to make repetitive patterns, and also how to turn something into a swirl pattern on photoshop. So, since my aim of this module is to focus on designs to put on various surfaces, i have been playing around with my owl image from last year to create some different patterns!

Oh yeah, and my course leader suggested I put it on a lampshade!

Any thoughts? Personally I find the 3rd one makes me kinda dizzy!

Long lake work

Finally able to scan these in. I did a lot more ink and watercolour work due to the lack of scanners and the fact that Anna had a table full of batik dyes at the next table-so much fun to paint with!

Short fiction 6

Look what I found on my desktop :)

I did this a day before I left for america for a book of short stories published by Plymouth university. I remember being really stressed out and sick of it at the time but I actually quite like it now. I don't usually work in black and white texture but I may try it more after this.

Buzz buzz buzz

The flies at camp really liked my purple hair, they would fly round and round my head all the time driving me crazy and making me look it too as I was constantly waving my arms around trying to get rid of them!

Some very tiny things

From when I was sat on a rock by the lake on one of my days off...

Prismacolours are fun

I ended up having to be pretty lame and have rules for the prismacolours because all the kids would leave the lids off and leave them everywhere which made me sad because they were such pretty colours! I don't usually use colour unless it is digital but here are a few sketches.

No idea why I was drawing a watermelon... I think it was in a book and I had no children or something!

Blog shame

I hate not being able to blog for such a long time! I got back from America on monday, finished camp and had 3 weeks of travel. I meant to do a lot more drawing in that time but in the end I just went to some amazing galleries and took a lot of photos.

This is just an interim post because I am bored and still at home with no scanner, expect to see lots of posts next week when I can scan in and edit all of my camp drawings, very excited for that :) In the meantime here is a photo I just found of me teaching Julie, a girl who did an awesome anime drawing that ended up being around 10ft long, this is us piecing it together!
