we made an ipad app!

Had a day long workshop today learning the basics of making a Zine that plays on an ipad. I was working with Holly liminton and Megan Ashford. We decided to name our collective "Mahojo" and do a small bio with a couple of images each. It is surprising how long this takes especially when you have to make landscape and portrait versions of each page for when the screen rotates! Looked pretty swish when we were finished though. I hope to have another go at this perhaps in our new module, after all it seems digital is the future!

bird is the word

First few drawings for our new brief creating images for the Ghosts of Gone Birds project. This project involves different kinds of artists creating work showing the extinct birds and bringing them back to life through drawings, paintings, music etc.  The project hopes to raise awareness of these species and others that are close to extinction!

brightly coloured things.

Considering my last project was almost entirely monochrome, I would say this is something quite out of my comfort zone! Doing some artwork for a greetings card company, I chose birds as it links into my next uni project. These are done in ink line with gouache, bought the gouache in the summer and this is the first time I have used it. Quite like how they came out, the lovebirds are my favourite. Feedback anyone?

Added some watermarks incase for some crazy reason they actually print my work ;)

trees and birds

In the studio today trying to do some designs for a card company that uses artwork by students and recent graduates. Their brief is ridiculously open so I could draw anything I want and I have no idea where to start! Did this drawing though and a few experiments on Photoshop. Might submit this for something else as I think i can do something more cheery for the card brief! Went off on a tangent a bit haha ah well...

opinions anyone?
